Common Questions
Where does the data come from?
Clarifi extracts data from publicly available IRS Form 990 filings via ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer, the IRS, and other public sources. See the Data Sources tab for details on each source and its accuracy.
How accurate are the numbers?
Financial values extracted from IRS XML filings (2014+) are deterministic and verified against independent benchmarks. Older years use PDF extraction with vision AI. Every answer includes a citation to its source.
Can I request access for a different organization?
Clarifi can be configured for any U.S. nonprofit with IRS Form 990 filings. Contact us at to discuss adding your organization.
I found incorrect data. How do I report it?
Please email with the specific year, concept, and the value you believe is incorrect. Include the source if possible. We take data accuracy seriously and will investigate promptly.
